Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! My husband and I are going to our hometown for a short trip. I hope you all enjoy the holiday and stop to count your blessings!

Q & A

Last week was unusually busy. There was the normal business surrounding the holiday, and then my dog sprained her leg on top of that. She is okay now, thank goodness! I am going to answer your questions over the next several days. Thank you all for your questions!

Liana said... the girls on the real housewives of orange county are always drinking!!! what would be your favorite or signature drink!!

My favorite drinks are either a dirty vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives or firefly mixed with Simply Lemonade. I also like red wine. My favorite non alcoholic drink is hot tea. I love hot tea from Teavana, I posted about it here. I also love Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane tea during the holidays.

Heather said... What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday (start to finish)?

I love Saturdays! My favorite way to spend a Saturday would probably be going to the movies with my husband Saturday morning. You can see movies really cheap at the theater near us and they let you bring in Starbucks. It's perfect! Then I would go get a pedicure and maybe do a little shopping. At night I like to try a new restaurant with my husband and then maybe meet up with friends afterwards. I also love to see concerts and plays if there is something fun to see.

Legallyblondemel said... Oh, hooray!I like the question you gave me - what do you like to do on weekends? Speaking of, have a great one.

My favorite kind of weekend is a low key, unscheduled weekend. I love to get out and do things, but I don't like having a schedule. Some weekends my husband and I don't do much and then other weekends we are super busy. Sunday mornings I love to go have brunch with my husband and linger over the Sunday paper. Other than that, I like going to the movies, trying new restaurants, shopping, visiting friends, and lounging around at home. I sound so boring!!

Nantucket Karen said... Where did you develop your AMAZING taste??Please visit my blog as I mentioned you on it today :)

Karen, I am absolutely flattered by your comment! I love traditional things. Furniture, clothes, etc. I usually wear turtlenecks and collared shirts. For some reason I have never liked trendy things. I think the main reason I don't like trendiness is that I can't justify buying something that I will only wear one season unless it is super cheap.

Having classic, traditional taste does not always serve me well though. When I was looking for wedding invitations I managed to pick out the most expensive wedding invitations at the store. Those who know me were not at all surprised at all by that. I decided to forgo the super expensive invitations and go with simple William Arthur invitations instead.

Petunia said... I ditto the how-you-met-hubby story! Another good one, what are your favorite cosmetics/skin care items?

I am going to share how I met my husband later on this week. As for cosmetics and skin care items, here are some of my favorites:

Skin Care Favorites
Body Care Favorites
Favorite Cosmetics

Thanks for all of your questions. I will be back later with part two. I hope you all have a nice week!

Tory Burch Revas?

Okay, so I know I am probably the last person to jump on the Reva band wagon. However, I think they are so cute every time I see someone wearing them.
Do any of you all wear these? Are they comfortable?
I can't tell you how many pairs of ballet flats I have bought but don't wear because they are so uncomfortable. I am thinking about buying a pair of Revas in black leather.
Any thoughts?

Lilly Jubilee Collection

I just finished looking at the Lilly Pulitzer Jubilee collection. Oh my goodness! The dresses are gorgeous! I pre-ordered the Elias dress for my graduation party. My dress will be in at the end of the month so keep your fingers crossed that it will fit. All of the dresses look so much prettier in person than they do online. The Jubilee Collection is a limited edition collection for Lilly's 50th anniversary.

I also picked up Lillyopoly! It is adorable! My husband will definitely humor me and play on this beautiful pink and green game board!

I hope you all have a nice week!

My Holiday Wish List from Williams Sonoma

*Update* Totally Me, you're awesome! Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I love Williams Sonoma. Yesterday I was perusing the new Williams Sonoma catalog and found tons of things I want (Ahem! Mom, if you are reading!).

Over the Sink Cutting Board - I saw this yesterday on Vineyard Vogue's blog and thought this would be so practical for prep work.

All Clad Stainless Steel Nonstick Fry Pan - Am I seriously suggesting that I want this for Christmas. I'm getting old! I prefer stainless, but there are a few things I need a nonstick surface for.

I love this 12 Days of Christmas Tree. I may try to channel my inner Martha Stewart and make this at home. Does anyone know where I can find ornaments?

Gold Chargers - I think these would co-ordinate well with my holiday china pattern, Bernardaud Grenadiers

Copper Snowflake Cookie Cutter

What's on your Christmas Wish list? Or, maybe you all are sane and aren't thinking about the holidays yet!

Time to Move Forward!

Finally we can move forward with a new president. I am so happy for this to be over. Please pray for Barack Obama and this country as he begins his term.

I hope you all have a nice week!
